Lumen invite exhibition proposals for a group show at Ugly Duck, 24-27 May 2018. Alongside the exhibition, there will be talks, workshops and a film night.
Open call closes: 31 March 2018
See a film of the past exhibition at Ugly Duck below:
The fragility and monumental importance of life on Earth from the darkness of space, and how concepts such as the Overview Effect alter collective perception of ecology.
Through the exhibition, Lumen invite participants to create a new conversation around climate change, and the overall damage and destruction we are causing to our environments. The exhibition will aim to inspire a change of thinking through highlighting the precarious nature of life, and the extraordinary set of circumstances that allow us to exist, in an otherwise, possibly, lifeless universe.
We will be producing a zine for this exhibition and each artist will receive a copy. Further zines will be available for sale.
£30.00 (on the basis that your proposal is accepted).
Group Show Award
Lumen will offer three exhibiting artists a weekend group show in the Lumen Crypt Gallery later in 2018, curated by Lumen.
If you would like to run a workshop, please add a brief description of this in your application. Three workshops will be selected to run at the weekend. These artists running workshops will be responsible for selling tickets and managing their workshops and will not have to pay the £30 exhibition fee.
